If you have the fortune to visit Spain and specifically Catalonia, there is a place that you should not miss. The Dal\u00ed Museum<\/a> in Figueres<\/a>. One of the 50 most visited museums in the world!<\/p>\n

The Dal\u00ed Museum is probably the last great work of Salvador Dal\u00ed the artist. A personal project of the genius in which the imprint of its author can be seen in any corner of the building. A place that ended up being his own mausoleum. Against his last will and testament. His last wish was to be buried in the P\u00fabol Castle, next to his love and muse, Gala. Salvador Dal\u00ed remains can be visited in this same building, in a small gloomy and shadowy room that works as a crypt.<\/p>\n

The first thing we find outside the museum is a red facade and the roof of the building decorated with giant eggs. Dal\u00ed was a passionate of symbols and used them a lot in his body of work. Ants, Elephants, angels, and of course eggs.\u00a0The egg is a good example of contrast. A hard shell and a soft interior. We enter the Museum through a cozy little square with several big sculptures and we get into the world of the artist. Or maybe in his mind instead?\u00a0This is the second time I have visited this space and this time I liked it much more than the previous one … Perhaps because it has been a long time since my first visit and with the years, we tend to see things so differently. From another perspective. Things sure change, but we change too.<\/p>\n

Everything in the museum is very daring keeping on mind the time it was conceived. And still today, many of his works remain actual and fresh. To dare with one’s own unconsciousness requires much courage.\u00a0There is a lot to say about this place and everything I could express would be short, since it is more of a visual experience than describing an architecture or a space as such. Dal\u00ed makes you think over, reflect, and leaves nobody indifferent … His paintings, his giant murals of the main hall, his sculptures and drawings, his visual metaphors and concepts …<\/p>\n
